形態特徵

• Stems usually pendent, terete, much branched, 30-40 cm long, slender but discontinuously dilated throughout, forming many dark purple pseudobulbs; pseudobulbs obliquely fusiform, 2-3 cm long, 4-6 mm wide, with 1 or 2 nodes bearing many sheath-fibers.
• Leaves linear, 5 cm long, 3 mm wide; obtuse and shortly mucronate at apex, contracted at base, articulated with sheath.
• Racemes lateral, arising from nodes of pseudobulb, 1- or rarely few-flowered, with tube-like spathe at base; bracts ovate, hyaline; pedicel and ovary 1.5 cm long. Flowers showy, light purple but turning dark-purple toward apex of sepals and petals, ca. 3.5 cm in diam.; dorsal sepal ovate-lanceolate, ca. 3 cm long, 8 mm wide, apex acuminate, slightly contracted at base, 7-nerved; lateral sepals linear-lanceolate, ca. 3.5 cm long, 8 mm wide, apex acuminate, oblique at base and adnate to foot of column forming saccate mentum ca. 5 mm long; petals ovate-rhomboid, 3.3-3.6 cm long, 1.8-2.1 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, 5-nerved; lip ovate, 3.2-3.5 cm long, 1.8 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, 3-lobed, lateral lobes yellow, semi-orbicular, suberect, terminal lobe, nearly white, purplish toward apex, triangular-ovate, 1.7-2 cm long, 1.6 cm wide, disc shortly hirsute, usually with darkish purple patch between lateral lobes; column 4-5 mm long, foot nearly as long, 3 mm wide; anther elongate cup-like, shortly hirsute; pollinia oblong, 2 mm long.

分布

• 台灣 : forests at ca. 1,000 m in the north and center.
• 世界 : From southern China to the Himalayan region, India, Myanmar and Thailand.
